Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art takes place on Litchfield Plantation from September 18 through October 2. The 2011 Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art kicks off with a Wine Gala fundraiser on September 23, followed by two weeks of both visual and performing arts. Performing acts include Spyro Gyra, The Kickin Grass Band, Ball in the House, David Osborne Trio, and The Hit Men. The visual arts include a Film Festival, a Gallery Crawl, Chalk Under the Oaks, and a performance by Bits ‘n Pieces Puppet Theater.

Also taking place is the Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival from Friday to Sunday, September 23-25, 2011. It’s located at Atalaya Castle in Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet. The Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival will feature more than 100 fine artisans. The festival provides aesthetic beauty against a background of natural beauty. While there you can enjoy fine art, quality crafts, Lowcountry food, and area musicians. Admission fee is $6 for adults. A multi-day pass is available for $10. Visitors 15 years old and younger are admitted free. Admission to the park during the festival is also free.
